Free data and insights into the translation profession

Last updated 3 December 2020

In an attempt to offer free access to valuable data on the current landscape of the translation profession to all parties interested (linguists, translation buyers, providers of services for translators, and ultimately the public), we are conducting research in our field. To ensure the data is relevant, we work closely with our colleagues from across the translation industry.

Each survey is designed following consultation with the target audience and in collaboration with a research consultant to make sure questions are not leading or biased.

We believe that by making the findings freely available (and for free) to anyone interested means we are giving them the tools to help them in their business and we hope we can contribute to the knowledge in the translation field.

Freelance translator survey 2020

This study was specifically aimed at freelance translators (part-time or full-time) based anywhere in the world. With more than 1,500 respondents who got involved, we believe the data is relevant and interesting, so please consider sharing it with fellow freelance translators.
