Free data and insights into the translation profession
Last updated 16 April 2022
In an attempt to offer free access to valuable data on the current landscape of the translation profession to all parties interested (linguists, translation buyers, providers of services for translators, and ultimately the public), we are conducting research in our field. To ensure the data is relevant, we work closely with our colleagues from across the translation industry.
We believe that by making the findings freely available to anyone interested means we are giving them the tools to help them in their business and we hope we can contribute to the knowledge in the translation field.
Research based on Freedom of Information requests that looked at the spending of all NHS Trusts and Health Boards in the UK over a period of five years, between 2015/2016 and 2019/2020. Figures obtained from 244 NHS organisations were compiled and analysed.
This study was specifically aimed at freelance translators (part-time or full-time) based anywhere in the world. With more than 1,500 respondents who got involved, we believe the data is relevant and interesting, so please consider sharing it with fellow freelance translators.
